Happy Birthday, Grandma!

by Patty

In a few weeks, Melt & I are going to be in Ohio for a wedding. The dude getting married is one of Melt's main homies from back in the day, and Melt is in the wedding.

That same weekend, my super-incredible grandma is turning 80 and her wonderful children (my mom included) are throwing her a soiree. Sadly, we will miss it.

So tonight, we were helping my mom out with a party surprise when I discovered this application on my Mac called Photo Booth. I know, for the seasoned Mac-ers it's probably lame and elementary. But it provided a solid 10 minutes of entertainment for me:

Happy weekend!

SPECIAL EDITION: Wednesday Musings with Melt

by Melt

Melt is wondering if... there has ever been an offer compelling enough to get a wedding magazine subscriber to renew their subscription for another year or two or three?

Cupcake Model Turned Greeting Card Model

by Patty

Last night, Melt and I were just hanging out, having a quiet night at home hiding from the rain. We were making the rounds on the websites we usually visit, when we stumbled up our engagement pictures. On a greeting card website.

At first we did a double take. Then when we realized that YES, that actually IS us, we laughed. And laughed. And laughed again. We are The Millers, Jack & Kate and Jake & Jane:

(The top one is Melt's fav)

After further investigation, we learned that our awesome photographers have a partnership with Mango Ink, where Mango Ink exclusively features Studio 6.23's photographs to showcase their designs. Pretty cool, eh?

If Halloween could dress up like any other holiday, which would it choose?

Wedding Update

by Patty

Wedding update: You can now rest assured you will be dancing your pants off (not literally, please) at our wedding. Yesterday we signed a contract with a DJ - wahoo!

We also worked our best negotiating skills and were able to get him to come down in price. I suppose a crappy economy CAN work in our favour. And after all, it can't hurt to counter-offer, right? It's not like there isn't 347 other vendors out there who do the same thing.

Now if we could just find ceremony music! If you or someone you know is a violinist/harpist/acoustic guitarist/something pretty, shoot us an email (not that we don't appreciate those who have volunteered to re-learn the instrument they played in 8th grade, because we do...).

Proof That Women are Born This Way

by Patty

I came across this video a few days ago and I think it's a) adorable and b) hilarious. Who doesn't love a good baby video!?

If nothing else, it's good for a smile on this brutally chilly fall day!

Save It!

by Patty

The time has come for you to save it. The date, that is.

As you may (or may not) know, Melt and I have chosen to tackle all of the paper goods for our wedding ourselves. This includes: Save the Date cards, invitations, programs, menus, table-related things (be it assignments, numbers, whatever) and anything else we dream up. And trust me, we'll dream it up.

Being the writer/designer he is, Melt was eager to begin designing our "look." So shortly after we got engaged, we started playing with colors, fonts, layouts, etc. And that went on. And on. And on for the entire summer.

When we got our engagement photos back, we knew it was time to get serious and settle on a design. And then the real fun began. Searching for the perfect paper (at the perfect price), finding a printer (HUGE thanks to Mary Elisa), stocking up on ink, ordering supplies, etc. It was tiring, but well worth it.

This is where Melt spent hours days doin his thang.

Hope you enjoy. Maybe even magnet it to your fridge? And if you like the design, we're for hire (well, Melt is).
